Mulalloo Beach PS awarded Primary Science School of the Year

Each year the Science Teachers’ Association of Western Australia (STAWA), invites primary and secondary students to participate in the Science Talent Search (STS) competition.

This is a wonderful opportunity for students to develop their interests in Science through a competition with a range of categories to suit a wide variety of abilities and interests. The Science Talent Search also provides students with an opportunity to expand their scientific literacy, by showing interest and understanding in the world around them and engaging in discussions about Science.

This is the third year that Mullaloo Beach has had finalists in the STAWA Science Talent Search competition.

Year six Mullaloo Beach student, Daisy Stockley was also nominated as Science Student of the Year for her science investigation into the speed of rip currents in the ocean. Entries were assessed on scientific thought, originality and creativity and communication.

Mullaloo Beach Primary School was nominated as the Science School of the Year by Science Teacher’s Association of WA (STAWA) for their entries into the Science Talent Search Competition. MBPS had finalists in the categories of Science Photography and Science Investigations.
